Mr. Porter C. Massey

Porter C. Massey was born on July 11th, 1950 in Kosciusko, Mississippi to the union of Harris and Etha Lee Massey. He was the 10th child born into the family of twelve children. Porter received his formal education from the Springridge Mississippi Public School. Porter moved to Milwaukee, WI in 1964 to be closer to his 'family that had already relocated. Porter met the love of his life, Geraldine Jackson in Milwaukee, WI. They were inseparable and deeply in love. They were married on July 5th, 1985 and their union was blessed with six children, one daughter and five sons. Porter was baptized and became a Jehovah Witness in 1987. Porter (affectionately known as Pops) loved to entertain and was always the life of any gathering. He loved to go hunting and fishing with Willie and johnny. Porter enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was known for cooking big breakfasts, barbecuing, and listening to the blues. He liked to look good, smell good, and took pride in his creased jeans and cowboy boots with the gold tips. Porter worked at Maynard Steel and retired from Lucas-Milhaupt. He was a hard worker and went on to start his own business, Sunrise Cleaning. It was here that he was able to work alongside his children and lay a foundation teaching them about entrepreneurship. Porter was preceded in death by his parents; Edla and Harris Massey, his loving wife; Geraldine Massey, his daughter; Deena Wynos, his sons; Dustin Massey and Brian Jackson, granddaughter; Moneisha Fayne, his brothers; O.D.,James, Harris jr., Rufus, Nathan, Matthew, Tommy Lee, Lacey Massey, and sister; Bessie Roundtree. He leaves to cherish his memory his three sons; Porter (Jennifer) Jackson and Scotty Massey of Milwaukee, WI, Terrance (Christiel jackson of Memphis, TN, one daughter; Nicole Jackson of Milwaukee, WI, daughter-in-law; Tanisha Jackson, son-in-law; Edward Hodges, 15 grandchildren; De'Edra Hodges, De'Edreon Hodges, De'Edreanna Hodges, Jordan Jones, Isiah jackson, Zoelle Iackson, Demetrius Beamon Ir., Caleb Beamon, De'Marcus Fayne, Brianna Iack- son, Orlando Jackson all of Milwaukee, WI, Quintella Bohannon, Camri jackson, and Dustin Jackson of Atlanta, GA, Breyon Cosey of Minneapolis, Minnesota, great granddaughter; Winter Bandy of Atlanta, GA, sister; Jessie Wilson, brother; Granville Massey, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
