Mrs. Regina Butler-Harris

We gather to honor Regina's life, Celebrate her accomplishments, and offer our support to one another during this difficult time. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory continue to inspire and uplift us all. Regina Harris, a woman of grace and strength, graced this world on May 20, 1942, in Mobile, Alabama. She was the cherished daughter of John Butler and Willie Lee Butler, who instilled in her the values of love, compassion, and resilience. Regina was baptized in her early tweens at Aimwell Baptist Church in Mobile, AL. Regina began her education at Josephine Allen Institutions and AF. Owens Elementary, Dunbar Jr. High School, and Central High School, all in Mobile, AL. She fostered lifelong friendships and gained wisdom for her future adventures. Regina met Robert E. Harris and they married in 1960. They made Milwaukee, WI their home. Their union was blessed three children: daughter, Yvette Harris; and two sons, Reginald Harris and lsrmaaeel Abdur-Rahim. Regina dedicated herself wholeheartedly to Milwaukee Area Technical College, leaving a lasting impact throughout her professionalism, care for colleagues and students, and unwavering commitment. Her legacy in the educational community will endure. Outside her career, Regina cherished diverse hobbies. She lost herself in the enchanting world of literature, crafted stunning pieces through sewing, enjoyed lively card games, and delighted in cooking for loved ones. Regina's warmth and boundless love enriched the lives of those fortunate to know her. Her legacy lives on in the memories and lessons she shared. As we say goodbye to this remarkable woman, may we find solace in knowing she lived a full life filled with joy and laughter. Regina Butler-Harris departed this life on September 2,2023. She was preceded in death by her: mother, Willie Lee Butler; father, John Butler; mother-in-law, Bernice Harris; father-in-law, Shelly Harris; sister, Contessa Butler; brothers, Ernest (Themal) Butler, Ercell Butler, Ervin (Eddie Jean) Butler, Roy Butler, Erston (Joyce) Butler, and James (Yvonne) Butler; brothers-in-law, Robert Carter, Paul Harris, Roy Harris, Gene Mack Harris, and Wilbert Price; and sister-in-law, Myrtis Harris. She leaves to cherish her memory: children, Yvette Harris, Reginald (Hassana) Harris, and Ismaaeel (Malikah) Abdur-Rahim; grandchildren, Ian Warner, Rasheedah Abdur-Rahim, Yusuf Harris, Shaakirah Abdur-Rahim, Khalif Abdur-Rahim, Khadijah Harris, Naadiya Abdur-Rahim, Amir Abdur-Rahim, and Amani Abdur-Rahim; great-grandchild, Safiya Donaldson, who brought her immeasurable joy and added sparkle to her life; sister, Annie Bell Carter of Mobile, AL; and sisters-in-law, Betty Harris of Wingate, NC, Geraldine Harris, Jeanette Harris, and Joeceal Price, all three of Milwaukee, WI, Janice Harris of New York, N.Y, Naomi Moore of Mobile, AL and Rosa Butler of Stockbridge, GA
