Ms. Rosa Mae Watson

Rosa Mae Watson was born on April 2, 1943, to the union of George and Annie (Brown) Martin in McComb, Mississippi. She was the beloved baby girl of twelve children. Rosa received her formal education within the Pike County School System and attended Eva Garden High School. At an early age, Rosa accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church in McComb, MS, where she joyfully sang in the choir. Later in life, she became a faithful member of Victory Missionary Baptist Church, attending regularly until her health declined. On January 28, 1962, Rosa Mae Martin united in holy matrimony with Frankie E. Watson in McComb, MS. Their union was blessed with four daughters: Debono Grace, Casondra Lanette, Pamela Joyce, and Evelyn Benita. Affectionately known as "Nell" by family and close friends, Rosa was hardworking and dedicated woman. She was employed at Globe Union for many years and later worked at Briggs & Stratton, where she retired in 2000 after 30 years of faithful service. Nell loved to travel and enjoyed seeing the world with her travel group, Fun Inc. Travel Club, made up of family and friends who shared her joy for life and adventure. Rosa Mae Watson departed this life on Friday, January 23, 2026. She was preceded in death by her: loving husband, Frankie E. Watson; parents, George and Annie Martin; eight brothers, Robert, George Ernest, Wallace, Harry, Gabriel, Milton Gene, Julius, and Willie James; three sisters, Ruby Lee (Martin) Joseph, DeElia (Martin) Rodgers, and Dorothy Dean (Martin) Tate; daughter, Casondra Lanette Watson; stepdaughter, Barbara Collette (Mitchell) Thompson; and granddaughter, Angelia Nicole Booth. Rosa leaves to cherish her loving memory: daughters, Deboria Booth (John) of Wolcott, Cl. and Pamela Watson-Terrell and Evelyn Watson-Harrell, both of Milwaukee, WI; six grandchildren, Deboria L. Booth of Bristol, Cl. John (Colleen) Booth Jr. and Joshua Booth of Wolcott, CT, Christopher Harrell Jr. and Bleu Harrell of Buckhead, GA and Larry Harrell of Milwaukee, WI; five great-grandchildren: · Dahlylah Moore of Bristol, CT, John Booth III, Gavin Booth, and Savannah Booth of Wolcott, CT, and Raine Harrell of Buckhead, GA; sister, Emma Mae (Woodrow) Wilson of Bossier City, LA; four sisters-in-law, Irene Martin of McComb, MS, Evelyn Watson-Caston of McComb, MS, Willye Sue Smith of Henrico, VA and Lorse "Virginia" Stokes of Milwaukee, WI; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
