Ms. Rowena Spencer

Pastor Rowena Spencer was born on August 21, 1948 to the union of Robert and Beatrice Spencer in Penn, Arkansas. Pastor Rowena Spencer received her formal education at Cotton Plant High School in Cotton Plant, Arkansas. She further her education at Delta College in Saginaw, Michigan. Pastor Rowena Spencer accepted Christ as her Savior in 1975 at age 27 and was united with Soul Saving Station where she served until God called her to minister. She was employed by Tuckaway Heights as a supervisor. In her leisure she enjoyed sewing, writing poetry, shopping and gardening. She was the Pastor of Mt. Sinai School of Worship and Ministry. Pastor Rowena Spencer was one of a kind. To know her was to love her. If she had it and you needed it, she would help you. Pastor Spencer's passion was the work of the Lord. She loved her family; continuously reaching out to everyone. Pastor Spencer was an intelligent, witty, fun loving and blunt person. She would tell it like it is without compromise. Until her passing, she was a prayer warrior. She enjoyed sharing the gospel and spending time with her grandchildren. She was full of ideas. Though opinionated, she gave some of the best advice. If you didn't know anything about her, you knew she loved the Lord. Rowena Spencer departed this life on August 8, 2018. She was preceded in death by mother, Beatrice Spencer; father, Robert Spencer; son, Shedwick Spencer and brother, Climmie Taylor. She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter Keisha Jefferson; sons, Tony Spencer and Pastor Willie Darron (Christin) Jones; grandchildren, Tory Spencer, Ashley Spencer, Baily Jefferson, Keyva Spencer, Demitrus Spencer, Delion Cruz, Tonry Spencer Jr., Isaiah Spencer, Hannah Spencer, Ziare Jones, Makale Jones, Elijah Jones, Micaiah Jones; great-grandchildren, Tori Spencer, Justin Spencer, Tristin Spencer, Malia Spencer, Kortney Spencer, Kamron Spencer, Kyler Spencer, Ka'Journey Jackson; brothers, Jon N. Lawson, Robert Taylor and Morris Yates; sisters, Patricia (julian) Hyler, Doris Hunter and Elizabeth Williams; God-daughter, Diana Pitts as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
