Ms. Ruthie M. Edwards

Ruthie Edwards was a beautiful baby girl born on May 18, 1947 to the union of Rosie and Joe Brown in Charleston, Mississippi. She was a good student who excelled in her academics, she received her formal education from the Charleston Public School System. She attended Allen Colver High School. Ruthie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and never lost her faith. She was hard working woman in her younger years, Ruthie was employed as a security guard until her health declined. In her leisure, she enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren whom she adored. Ruthie also enjoyed listening to music, gardening, painting art and relaxing at home. Ruthie was a loveable, sweet gentle woman who was kind to people and greeted them with her beautiful infectious "smile. She was a lovable, well preserved woman with impeccable taste. She was so much more than a mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin and friend, Ruthie was a blessing to all. She loved and she will be dearly missed. Ruthie departed this life on October 29, 2024 making this a day etched in the heart of her family forever. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Rosie and joe Brown; siblings, Mary Mason, Ben, Charles, Myrtle, Clara, Edwin, Jesse, Earlean, Eddie Brown, Eva Rice and Rosie May Dukes. Ruthie leaves to cherish her loving memory her; children, Alphonso Farris (Johnnie Mae), Don Diego, Roger, Gail and Decosta Edwards and Shakisha Kimble; siblings, Geneva and Martha Brown; 27 grandchildren; 44 great grand- children, 3 great great grandchildren along with many relatives and many dear friends. As I Sit In Heaven As I sit in Heaven and I watch you everyday, I try to let you know with signs that I never went away. I hear you when your laughing and watch you as you sleep I even place my arms around you to calm you as you weep. I see you wish the days away begging to have me home, so I try to send you signs so you know your not alone. Don't feel guilty because you have a life that I was denied to me. Heaven is truly beautiful just you wait and see, so live your life laugh again, enjoy yourself and be free then I know with every breath you take you'll be taking one for me.
