Mr. Sylvester Luckett Sr.

Sylvester Luckett, Sr was born on March 5,1948 to the union of the late David Luckett Sr. and Emma Tucker in Mound Bayou, Mississippi He received his formal education at John F. Kennedy High School in Mound Bayou, Mississippi. Sylvester accepted Christ at an early age and was united with White Zion Baptist Church in Mound Bayou, MS. He later joined Christian Faith Fellowship Church in Milwaukee, WI under the leadership of Bishop Darrell and Pastor Pamela Hines. In 1974, Sylvester played Semi Pro Football for the West Allis Spartans. He later went on to open "Your Community Sandwich shop" located on the Northwest side of Milwaukee, while working at Chrysler Motor Corporation as a Chief Stewart for 30 years. He was also a Golden Glove Champion and a member of the Brew City Corvette club. In his leisure he enjoyed weight lifting, cooking, working on cars and helping others. He was the king of advice from how to cook a meal to how to fix things. He had an answer for almost everything. Sylvester greatest achievement in life was being a father to his children and grandchildren. He took the Luckett Family under his wings, after the death of his father without any hesitation and provided love, support, wisdom and lessons of this world to each and everyone of them. He was loved and respected by all and this showed in the number of young people in his life who chose to affectionately call him Uncle Vester. Sylvester was strong and courageous throughout his illness. He grew tired and now is being ushered to the gates of heaven by his parents and brother. Mr. Sylvester Luckett Sr. will always be loved and greatly missed. Sylvester departed this life on January 6,2019 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, David Sr. and Emma Luckett; brother Henry L. Luckett. Sylvester leaves to cherish his precious memories; his son Sylvester Luckett Jr; daughters Crystal Luckett and Andrea Luckett of Leander TX. Sister Grace Luckett of Allentown, PA Dorothy (Max) Key of Milwaukee, WI; David Jr. (Martha) Luckett of Milwaukee, WI; Parisienne Morris of Memphis, TN and Sherman S. (Treva) Luckett of Memphis, TN. He is also survived by special friend Doris Williams, 7 grandchildren, Charlyn Hudson, Tamara Danquah, Terrence Johnson, Tyler Luckett, Simone Luckett, Deshawn Luckett and Monique Luckett; 1 great-grandchild and a host of nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and friends.
