Mr. Wilbert St. Julien Sr.

Wilbert St. Julien, Sr., was born July 16, 1927 in Lake Charles, LA to the proud parents of Andrew S1. Julien & Edna George. Wilbert was an only child. He completed his formal education in the Lake Charles, LA school system and went on to serve in the United States Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1947. In 1948, Wilbert was united in holy matrimony to Gretchen Clemons. To this union five children (3 daughters and 2 sons) were born: Brenda, Wilbert [r., Darrell, Darlene & Michelle. Wilbert also has a son, Stuart Cole who resides in Jackson, MS. Wilbert accepted Christ at an early age at the Christian Baptist Church in Lake Charles, LA. In 1959 he relocated to Milwaukee, WI where he joined the Greater Galilee Baptist Church. In 1979 he united with the New Covenant Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. F. L. Crouther. He was a faithful and dedicated member until his passing. Wilbert worked at American Motors for many years until the Milwaukee Plant on Richards Street closed. He was then hired by the A. O. Smith Corporation where he retired from after over 35 years of service. His hobbies include swimming at the YMCA, Golf, reading by Lake Michigan, playing Dominos, going to the movies and spending time with his friends at the Clinton Rose Senior Center. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. The Lord sent his Angel to carry Wilbert home to glory on Thursday, July 25, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Derrick and one granddaughter, Dorian. Wilbert leaves to cherish his precious memory his 3 daughters: Brenda St. Julien (Michael Burt), Darlene St. Julien and Michelle St. Julien-Brown (Estell Jr.); 3 sons: Wilbert St. Julien Jr. (Cheryl), Darrell St. Julien (Lola), and Stuart Cole (Faye); and a special cousin, Bertha Broussard. His grand-children Bryan Haywood (Pattye), Eric Haywood, Du-Shan Conway, Khaleeq Abdul-Aziz, Brandi Harris (Lamont), Leslie Griffin (Clorenzo), Reyshawn Sprewer (Pam), Darrell St. Julien, Jr., Deidre Jones (Dominique), St. Julien-Beauchamp, Lamont Nelson, Tiffany St. Julien, Nicholas St. Julien, April Cole, Stuart Cole, Tyler Cole, Stuart Cole, Jr., Kobe Cole; 24 great-grandchildren and a host of dear cousins and friends.
