Elder Willie Jordan

Pastor Elder Willie Jordan Jr. was born on October 8, 1953, in Sondheimer, Louisiana, to the late Willie Jordan Sr. and Louise Nelems Jordan. At a young age, Willie relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he attended Milwaukee Public Schools and graduated from Lincoln High School. During his school years, he developed a passion for basketball and continued playing while attending the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He later furthered his education at Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC). Willie proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Co where he honorably served his country. Although he experienced the heartbreaking loss of both of his p n at a young age, God placed caring people in his life. He was lovingly embraced and adopted by Mother Carpenter, who became a guiding presence and cherished mother figure. In the mid-1970s, Willie accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, forever changing the course of his life. On October 6, 1974, under the leadership of Rev. R. L. Myles at Greater Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church, he preached his first Holy Ghost-filled message, answering the call God had placed upon his life. Committed to spreading the Gospel, Elder Jordan founded Greater New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in 1982, faithfully serving God's people with passion and purpose. On December 23, 1985, he united in holy matrimony with Missionary Berethea Maria Davis. Together they shared over 42½ years of love, faith, and partnership while raising five children: Katrina Williams, Donna Williams, Maurice Benson, Lorenzo Davis, and Willie Jordan IV. As his ministry continued to grow, Elder Jordan became a member of the Church of God in Christ under the leadership of late Bishop A. Allen, where he worshipped at Little Hill Church of God in Christ. He later founded and pastored Messiah Church of God in Christ, faithfully leading many souls to Christ through preaching, teaching, and prayer. He later became a member of Holy Redeemer Church of God in Christ under the leadership of late Bishop Sederick Daniel, where he continued serving faithfully until his health no longer permitted. Pastor Jordan had a heart for worship and loved singing with various gospel groups. His favorite song was "I Won't Complain," a testimony that reflected the way he lived his life with gratitude, unwavering faith, and complete trust in God through every season. While he was a devoted pastor, he would often say that his greatest ministry was his family. He was an extraordinary father, but an even greater grandfather. Whether it was picking up his grandchildren from school, taking them to activities, sharing stories, or simply being present, he treasured every moment with them. He was the family's "one phone call away" person-the one everyone could depend on whenever help was needed. Willie loved the simple things in life. He found peace while fishing with his beloved friend and brother in heart, Sunny, and bis sister-in-law, Sharon. He enjoyed long drives, spending time with family, laughing, and caring for his faithful dog, Shaunna. Although he preferred staying behind the camera rather than posing for pictures, his love for his children and grandchildren was evident in everything he did. Above all else, Pastor Elder Willie Jordan Jr. was a man who loved God. He never missed an opportunity to pray with someone, encourage others through God's Word, or have meaningful conversations about faith. His wisdom, kindness, humor, and steadfast love will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. On July 10, 2026, Pastor ElderWillie Jordan Jr. peacefully transitioned from labor to reward and entered into eternal rest with bis Lord and Savior. He leaves to cherish his precious memory his devoted wife of 42! years, Missionary Berethea Maria Jordan; his children, Maurice Benson, Lorenzo (Donnaca) Davis, Willie (Jennifer) Jordan IV, Katrina Williams, and Donna Williams; his beloved grandchildren: London Williams, Golden Cotton, A'Qwaun Jordan, Willie Jordan V, Aasiya Harris, Nevaeh Gross, America Adams, Khailey Davis, Lailah Da vis, Zoey Davis, Taylor Wilson, Amauri Campbell, Premere Benson, Adora Benson, and Peyton Smith; his brother, Bruce Carpenter; his sister, Ora Mae Carpenter; his brother-in-law, Al Owens; his godchildren, Marquise Woodson, Patrice Carter, and Rachea Anderson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, and countless friends whose lives were forever touched by his love and ministry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Jordan Sr. and Louise Jordan; his sisters, Mildred (Sammy) Haynes, Ann (Hank), Pearl Owens, and Nora Lee; his beloved uncle, Walter (Caria) Nelems; his mother-in-law, Mother Lee Ella Davis; and his sister-in-law, Patricia Carpenter. Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice knowing that his work on earth is complete. His legacy of faith, love, service, and unwavering devotion to God will continue to live on through the lives he touched. Well done, thy good and faithful servant.
