Ms. Willie Mae Nealy

was born in Cameron, Texas on October 6,1932 to the holy matrimony of Curtis J. Malone and Mary (Mae Emma) Neal. She was the surviving child of twin girls. Willie loved living as a Christian. Her actions and conversations displayed her Christian values and love for God. She was affectionately nick-named "Della" by her family. Her warm smile and sweet personality captured everyone that she interacted with. Willie Mae accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She loved serving God. Beginning at their 9th and North Avenue location, she was a life-long member of Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In her formative years, Willie Mae graduated from O.J. Thomas High School, Cameron, TX in 1949. Chemistry and Literature were her favorite academic subjects. She also played on the basketball team while she was in high schoo!. She was a dedicated employee of Inland Steel Company as a welder for 20+ years. In her previous years she worked as a farmer, house keeper and teacher's assistant at 21st Street School (Milwaukee Public Schools). Willie Mae unconditionally loved her family and they loved her. She took great pride in working in her beautiful flower and lush vegetable gardens. It was well known by family that her favorite flower was the Sunflower. Willie also enjoyed spending time with dose family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her leisure, she enjoyed sewing, fishing, vacationing, cooking and baking treats for her loved ones. Willie Mae had an exceptional love for many animals, as she grew up on a Texas country farm. Willie Mae Nealy departed this life on Sunday, May 17,2020. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Elmo Nealy Jr. With this union commencing December 4, 1950, God blessed them with four beautiful children; Patricia "Diane"(William) Teague of Milwaukee, WI, Gerald E. (Cassandra) Nealy of Berwyn, IL, Darrell G. Nealy of Milwaukee, WI and Mychael B. Nealy of Milwaukee, WI, eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. One brother, Benny Wilson of Houston, TX, preceded her in death. Further, she is survived by her siblings; (brothers) Curtis J. Malone [r., Gregory L. Malone, Christopher J. Malone, Michael R. Malone and (sister) Cleo M. Bass all of Milwaukee, WI, and Clifford Cromer of St. Louis, MO as well as a host of extended relatives and special friends.
