Betty Powell Daniels was born on January 11,1943 to Lucius Powell and Clara Mae Robinson Powell in Liberty, Mississippi. Betty accepted Christ at an early age at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Liberty, Mississippi. After relocating to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she united with Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Elbert M. Kelly, Sr., Rev. Willie D. Wanzo and Rev. Brandle C. Morrow, Sr., where she was a faithful member. She was a spokesperson and traveled with the Metronome singing group. Betty received her formal education at Jerusalem School in Liberty, Mississippi and Milwaukee Public Schools, graduating from North Division High School in January, 1961 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She received her medical training at Aurora Medical Center. Betty was united in holy matrimony to Ronald Daniels on August 22,1964. Betty worked in the medical field for more than 40 years. She worked for Dr. Poindexter, Dr. Parker, Dr. Hilliard, and Dr. Finlayson as a Medical Secretary. She later worked at the VA as a Medical Tech. Lastly, she worked for Visiting Nurses Association, which was affiliated with Aurora Health Care and later became Aurora at Home. She retired from Aurora at Home in January 2010. Betty loved to spend time with and take care of her nieces and nephews. She loved to cook and eat seafood, especially crab and lobster. She also loved traveling to visit Donald (Sandra) Perry in Mobile, Alabama and Chrystal Owney in Cincinnati, Ohio. Betty Daniels departed this life on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Froedtert Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucius Powell (stepmother, Romelia Powell) and mother, Clara Mae Green (stepfather,James Green); sister, Phyllis Scarborough; a son, grandparents, many uncles, aunts and cousins. She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Ronald Daniels of Plainfield, NJ; brothers, Clayton Powell and Elliott (Cheryl) Powell, both of Milwaukee, WI, Tyrone (Angie) Powell of Allwatukee, AZ; sisters, Rome1ia Powell of Milwaukee, WI and Juanita Powell of Owings Mills, MD; one brother-in-law, Leroy Scarborough, Sr.; aunt, Ada Williamson; special friend (like a sister), Brenda J. Wolfe; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and one great-great nephew; a host of cousins, church family and friends.
