Ethel Louise Woods Sunset Friday January 29th, 2021 Ethel Louise Woods was born to Joseph Harris and Sarah Harris (White) in Faunsdale, Alabama. She graduated high school and went on to technical college in Uniontown, Alabama. Ethel accepted Christ as a young girl and after relocating to Milwaukee, she joined Greater Galilee Baptist Church where she was an active member, including volunteer work with the meals program for those in need. Ethel retired from Milwaukee County in 1990 after spending many years working different positions. She gained friends wherever she went and continued to stay in touch with them. Ethel was united in holy matrimony to Walter Lysle Woods and God blessed their union with 5 children. Ethel loved to make clothes for her kids and was self-taught at sewing. God gifted her with many creative talents and she was great at crocheting. She loved being with her family. At the Christmas family gathering, she always had gifts for everyone and also made it fun with grab bag gifts. She was a caring and friendly neighbor who everyone on her block knew. Every year she organized a block party and provided food for her neighbors. During the last years of her life she was kept company by Rascal her daughter’s beloved dog who she took in and who was always by her side. Ethel passed away on January 29, 2021. She was proceeded In death by her former husband Walter Woods, her son Walter Woods Jr., her daughter Linda; as well as several sisters and brothers. Ethel leaves many to cherish her memory including three daughters: Della, Lois, and, Kathy; grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins; a host of family in Cleveland, Ohio; family in Alabama; and many friends.
