Mrs. Glenda Brown Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Glenda Sue Brown was born Monday, November 23, 1942, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas to the union of Hazel Berry and Celestus White. In April 1950, she was baptized by the Rev. William G. Davis of the Bethel A.M.E. Church. She briefly left Walnut Ridge to attend school in Taunton, Massachusetts, later to return to Arkansas to graduate from W.F Branch High School in Newport, Arkansas in 1959. In November 1968, she married Perry Brown and in March 1969, the couple moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In the fall of 1972, Minister Brown became a member of Jericho Missionary Baptist Church. A faithful and dedicated member, she sang in the choir, was a member of the Usher Board, served as Sunday School Superintendent, and served as Jericho's Church Clerk for many years. She earned her minister's license in August 2013. She retired from Rockwell Automation in 2003 after over 30 years of employment as a tester. Her hobbies included reading, baking (her most requested cake being caramel cake) and embroidering. She also would spend time doing journalism about what she learned through her Bible studies and prayer times. Her favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 26:3, "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You." Minister Brown finished her course on the evening of Monday, July 11, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Barbara; her brothers, Harry Clark and Charles White; her sister, Marsha Lee White; her bonus son, Perry Brown, Jr. and her great granddaughter Meryn Neveah Peterson. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 53 years, Deacon Perry Brown; her daughter Marsha (Jim) Kroeger; her son, Celestus "Bill" Brown, all of Milwaukee; two brothers, Carl and Harold White of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas; her bonus son, Vincent Brown of Simpsonville, South Carolina; her bonus daughter, Mia Phillips of Florence, Alabama; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
