Mr Roosevelt Pippin Jr.

Roosevelt Pippin Jr. affectionately known by family and friends as "Pippin", Mickey, Nookie, Paw Paw, and Papa, was born April 23, 1931 in Monticello, Arkansas to Roosevelt Pippin, Sr. and Doris Hubbard. While sleeping on Monday, September 29, 2014, Roosevelt slept in to GLORY! His parents and sister, Katherine Spears, preceded him in death. Roosevelt's beloved stepbrother, Wayne Pippin resides in Detroit, MI. Being raised in church, Roosevelt had a great affection for the Lord. throughout his life, he yearned to learn more about the Lord. Being of sound mind and realizing the importance of having a personal relationship with the Lord, he received Christ as his Lord and Savior in 2007 at Kingdom Business Community Church under the leadership of Pastors Billy Brooks and Arnold Cifax, Sr. Roosevelt received his formal education at Drew County High School in Monticello, ARK. In 1951, he moved to Milwaukee, WI. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in 1952, where he was stationed in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Roosevelt was honorably discharged from military service in 1954. On July 19, 1959, Roosevelt united in holy matrimony with his devoted and caring wife, Helen (nee: Gordon). They were blessed with four (4) children, Sharon Williams, Rodney (Adrienne) Pippin, Lamon (Quintella) Pippin, and Mario Pippin, who will cherish his memory and carry on his legacy. Roosevelt was a proud grandfather of six (6) grandchildren; Willie Williams, Jr., Vehantre Brown, Joshua Williams, Ebony McGhee-Pippin, Africa and Ashanne pippin, and one (1) great grandchild, She' Mya Williams. He shared special relationships with his two sister-in-laws, Jacqueline (Theodore) Garrison, and LaFaye Gordon, one brother-in-law, Ernest (Gloria) Gordon, cousins, Eddie Mack Brooks, Johnnie Mae Hopson, and Calvin Sanders, as well as a many, many more family members and friends. Family meant everything to Roosevelt! After a work related injury at Kelley Company, Roosevelt retired. Being energetic and hardworking, he couldn't sit still for long. Roosevelt returner to the workforce as a security officer for the Merchant Police, with an assignment at the Ladish Company in Cudahy, WI. to his credit, his work history and attendance were stellar! This work ethic would later be passed on to his children and grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoyed roller skating. Those that witnessed him at the roller rink were always amazed at how light he was on his feet! His interest in roller skating passed on to his children and grandchildren. Roosevelt was a jazz enthusiast, enjoying such artist as Wes Montgomery, Jimmy Smith, Dinah Washington, and George Benson.
