Ms. Sherika L. Lester

October 26, 1980 - February 13, 2022

Sherika Lynn Ann Lester was born on October 26, 1980, at St. Joseph's Hospital, to the union of her loving parents, mother, Sherry Rowsey-Brown and father, Louis Elton Ratliff, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Sherika received her formal education at schools in Milwaukee, Brookfield, and Beloit, Wisconsin. She went back later in life to obtain her high school diploma. Sherika accepted Jesus as her personal Savior early in life at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was later baptized as an adult rededicating her life to believing in Jesus. Sherika loved God. She had a heart that longed after God's will for her life, as well as those she loved, and strangers too. Sherika Lynn Ann Lester was united in holy matrimony with James Jarmell Lester, Sr., in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Their union was blessed with four children. Sherika and James then welcomed an additional two babies, for a total of six beautiful children. During Sherika's journey, she worked hard to earn her commercial driver's license. She drove school busses for Milwaukee Public Schools, Waukesha Public Schools, and Glendale Public Schools spanning a 16-year career. At other times, she was also a stay-at-home mom, as well as a personal care worker for various clients. In her leisure, she enjoyed being with both her family and friends. Sherika loved being everything she was to everyone she meant something to. She loved being a mother, daughter, friend, and our lovingly referred to as "T.T..". and of course, a sister. She loved to sing and cook. Sherika could make the best pepperoni lasagna ever, and she could grill too! She would light up any room she entered, and you could count on her to always make you smile or laugh. Sherika Lynn Ann Lester departed this life on February 13, 2022. Sherika is reunited in heaven in the presence of our Lord and is welcomed with open arms of her maternal grandfather, Andrew L. Rowsey; paternal grandmother, Rosetta Quin, and an additional grandfather, Tommie King, Sr., maternal great-grandparents, Albert and Etherlean Moore; paternal great-grandparents, Ike and Ethel Lewis; maternal great-great grandparents, Frazier and Ruby Rowsey, and Rufus and Minnie Thompson; paternal aunts, Eloise Pittman, Earnestine Sartin, and Dorothy Smith; and maternal uncle, Rodney Rowsey, Sr. She leaves to cherish her treasurable memories: loving parents, mother, Sherry (Altonio) Rowsey- Brown; father, Louis (Ruby) Ratliff; father figure, Larry Floyd, Sr.; mother-in-law, Vermarro Lester; beloved maternal grandmothers, Emerlean Rowsey, and Dorothy King; beloved husband, James Lester, Sr. and their children, Keshawn N.
