Mr. Willie L. Martin

May 14, 1940 - December 30, 2021

Willie "Rick" Martin was born on May 14, 1940, to the union of Elzy Martin Sr. and Melissa Wilkerson in Little Rock, Arkansas. Rick received his formal education at Sherill High School in Sherill, Arkansas. He went on to become a laborer for the city of Pine Bluff. He moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the early 1960s, and worked as a construction worker. He took pride in being a part of building some of the city's apartments. He then went on to become a bartender at Ealy's Bar where he was a champion in the pool league. Rick was a part of The Double Eagles and The Distance Riders motorcycle clubs. Rick gave his life to Christ in 2012 at Greater New Bethel Full Gospel Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop William J. Strong. In his leisure time, he enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, fishing, picking pecans, and enjoying the company of his family and friends. He always watched old western shows and loved collecting hats. Rick was known as the "LIFE" of the party, and "ALWAYS" told people "EXACTLY" how he felt. He had no filter. Willie "Rick" Martin departed this life on December 30,2021. He was preceded in death by his father, Elzy Martin Sr.; mother, Melissa Wilkerson, brothers, Melvin "Bam" Martin and Charles Martin. He leaves to cherish his memory: children, Sophia Dixon, Trenton Lawson, Wilma (Jarvis) Jenkins of Pearl, Mississippi, Marian Triplett, Tequila (Leonard) McClain, and Kari Martin; eleven grandchildren; TyShundra Dixon, La' Devrin Dixon, Erica Jenkins, Erionia Dixon, Amber Jenkins, Jade Jenkins, Tanijah McClain, Leonard McClain Jr.. Terrynaia Dixon, Frederick McClain, and Braylon McClain; five great grandchildren, Danielie, Kendrick, Kaisen, La'Devrin Jr.. and Ean; siblings, Elzy Martin Jr.. Maxine Martin both of Monroe, Louisiana, Nathaniel Watson, Brenda (Joe) McDaniel, Freddy (Lavoris) Martin, Jerry (Vera) Martin, Terry (Linda) Martin, Paul (Tammy) Martin, and Johnny (Pamela) Brown, all of Pine Bluff Arkansas. Rick leaves behind some dear friends, who really stepped in during his time of need, nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives.
