Mr. Willie McCoy Sr.

April 10, 1947 - April 13, 2022

The journey of Willie McCoy, Sr. began on April 10, 1945 in Portland, Arkansas. He was the son of the late Emmett and Harriet McCoy. Willie received a formal education at Tillis High School in Arkansas, and later received his G.E.D. upon moving to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and remained a faithful and devote Baptist throughout the remainder of his life. Willie was joined in Holy Matrimony to Pearlie Mae Jenkins in Milwaukee. Their union was blessed with five children. He was employed by Milwaukee County Transit System for 25 years as a Bus Operator until he retired in 1998. Two years later, he returned to work for Milwaukee County as a sanitation worker and re-retired in 2009. In his leisure, he enjoyed fishing, playing the guitar, drawing, and building things. He leaves to cherish his memories: two loving daughters, Angela Washington and Lisa DeBerry of Milwaukee; three sons, Raymond (Tammy) McCoy, of Houston, Texas, Stanley (Angel) Washington, and Willie McCoy Jr. of Milwaukee; three sisters, Bernice Davis, Maple Calvin of Milwaukee, and Gloria Ollison of Memphis, Tennessee; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives, and a special son-in-law, John Blake DeBerry. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John McCoy and Emmett McCoy.
