Mr. Adell Banks

Adell Banks was born on Januarv 29. 1930 to Willie and Pearl Banks in Junction City, Arkansas. Adell accepted Christ as his savior at the age of twenty. Adell was united In holy matrimony with Betty Knox on Christmas day in Milwaukee, WI. Their union was blessed with five children. He was employed by A. O. Smith Corporation as a handy man for forty nine and a half years, until retirement. In his leisure he enjoyed visiting casinos, going on cruises, dog and horse races, all sports. He specifically loved talking about baseball with his mother in law. Its not how he Died But how he lived. For all that knew ADELL also known as "Kid" his focus was always his family, looking good, feeling good and raving the Best of the Best. He was the Bead of our five generation lion family and thru his words and his actions He was an educator not a teacher. He taught by example he was a motivator, had integrity, dignity, pride.respect and most of all a joy to everyone in his presence.he was encouraging. Adell was a loving and caring person, who always showed compassion for others regardless of his situation. His work ethic was not just displayed at A.O. Smith but even in his neighborhood. He mentored young men in the 28th street neighborhood no matter what their situation was he always tried to encourage them to be the best that they could be no matter how tough things appeared to be. He never looked down on them, he accepted them for who they were. Every News Years he would tell his grandkids to keep something green in their wallet at all times and your money would stay green all year long. After retirement he spent his past time, watching his favorite shows, Judge Judy and Heat of the Night, even watching BET. Surprisingly 10 his family toward the end he shared with them that his favorite song was "This Little Light Of Mind I'm Going To Let It Shine." THAT IS HOW HE LIVED!! Adell Banks departed this life on February 19th 2015 he was preceded in death by father Willie Banks, Mother Pearl Banks, brothers, Willie, Ray, Hoover and sisters Willie Mae Banks and Mildred Banks. He leaves to cherish memories of his loving wife of over 60 years Betty Banks, children Anthony (Sundra) Knox, Rodney (Lori) Banks, Pamela (Glenn) Carter, Cheryl (Sheldon) Banks-James, Daryl (Tanya) Banks. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
