Mr. Allen L. Stribling Jr.

ALLEN STRIBLING JR was born on July 18, 1939 to the union of Allen Stribling and Fannie Dwin Bady in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was the second of nine siblings. Allen, affectionately known as "AI", attended McKinley High School in Louisiana, graduating in 1957. AI's first child, CarIas Yvette Stribling (Wilson), was born in October 1958. Shortly after her birth, Al moved to 'Milwaukee, Wisconsin in search of gainful employment. In Milwaukee Al decided to join the US Army. Al served from September of 1961 in the USAR Control Group XIV US Army Corps. He served in Korea and received accolades for his marksmanship and expertise with rifles and carbines. After serving two years of active duty, he remained in the Army Reserve until 1967. Milwaukee is where Al met and fell in love with Barbara Stribling (Walker). The two were joined in matrimony on August 12, 1967. Their union brought forth two beautiful children, Kim and Allen III. 1967 was a pivotal year for AI. In addition to marrying Barbara, he began his career at AO Smith, where he was employed for 30 years as a welder, retiring in 1997. While employed at AO Smith, Al attended night school, aspiring to become an engineer. His aspirations were soon put on hold due to the demands that family life presented. Al and Barbara were blessed to have a comfortable surrounded by friends and family. Al loved to spend . time enjoying the fruits of his labor. In addition to being a Mason, you could often find Al socializing in the community, enjoying a game of golf, playing chess, or driving his much cherished 1978 convertible Corvette. He was known for his larger than life personality and love of a good "friendly" debate (LOL). He often entertained his friends and family with riddles. Al loved to get his grandchildren thinking with intellectual brain teasers and complex puzzles. Later in life, when golf became too much for AI's knees, he traded in the golf course for thrifting at Goodwill. His children and grandchildren will especially miss the large brown paper bags of Christmas gifts that he filled with "gently-used" items, which he insisted would one day become valuable. Al will always be remembered as a great father, a playful grandfather and loving husband. He was a strong provider, a spirted conversationalist who knew just enough about everything to be dangerous. Most importantly, Al instilled a strong work ethic, a sense of community, and morals into his children. A legacy which will continue to endure for generations to come. On December 5, 2024 Al departed this life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen Stribling and Fannie Dwin Bady, his loving wife Barbara Stribling, siblings Mary Roberson, Shelton Stribling, Dorothy Lewis, Patty Burrell, and his beautiful daughter, Carlas Yvette Wilson. He left behind, to forever cherish his memory, his daughter Kimberly (Anthony) Ousley, son Allen (Sarah) Stribling III, eight (8) grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, sisters Barbara (Elvin) Bracken, Donna (Johnny) Barrow, Vashiti (Frederick) Bratton, and brother Alfred Stribling, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
