Mrs. Anna Doris Kirk

Anna Doris Kirk, affectionately known as "Annie", was born on June 16, 1945, to loving parents, Willie Robert and Virgie Virginia Moore in Greenwood, Mississippi. She was the seventh of nine children: George, Earl, Ora, Robert, Bernice, James, Anna, Arena, and Floyd. Her family moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she later graduated from Lincoln High School. In 1964, Anna married her dear husband, Kenneth Ray Kirk. Kenneth, a man of few words, said the following about their marriage: "We got along very well. We never left each other and stayed together until the end. Also, she was a good cook. I miss that, especially because right now I don't know how to even make water bread." They were married for over 60 yearsl Kenneth and Anna had one child, Steven Curtis Kirk, who she loved dearly. Steven adored her and was regularly at his parents' home, showing his love for them by helping in whatever way he could. Anna also showered her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with love. Anna touched the lives of her family, which extended to her "spiritual family" in the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in the Milwaukee area. Her family was asked what they would miss about Anna, and there was an overwhelming response of expressions. Here are just a few expressions from her siblings: "She was an unassuming individual, mannered, soft-spoken, and a lovable sister." - Robert, brother "She was my 'baby doll' who I cared for just like my own baby, starting from her birth." - Bernice, sister "We were like twins, and we did everything together. Everywhere that we went, she looked for someone to talk to about the Bible." - Arena, sister Anna's many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and spiritual brothers and sisters had so much to say about their love for her. They expressed that they felt her unconditional, soothing love shown by her addressing so many of them as "baby". So many also stated that she was caring, gentle, kind, sweet, funny, humble, warm, and hospitable. Professionally, for 30 years, Anna worked as a physician's billing clerk at Centralized Billings. She also worked for several years as a teacher's assistant for Milwaukee Public Schools. She had a zest for life expressed by her love of cooking for others, making chocolate chip cookies, pistachio pudding, homemade ice cream, and so much more. She was known for her long beautifully manicured fingernails, maintaining a very well-kept home with beautiful flowers and vegetable gardens. She loved roller skating, singing, and especially dancing, even up until her death. Her deep love for God led to her baptism as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on December 24, 1972. She regularly enjoyed sharing Bible truths with her neighbors by engaging in the public ministry, conducting home Bible studies, and lovingly teaching others about God and the spiritual gems found in His word. Sadly, Anna passed away on July 18, 2025. She is survived by her: devoted husband, Kenneth Kirk; son, Steven Kirk; brother, Robert L. Moore; sisters, Bernice Griffin and Arena Hearn; and a host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
