Mrs. Anna Fane Taylor

Mother Anna Jane Taylor was born on December 21, 1930, to the union of Bright and Lydia Smith in Wendell, North Carolina. Mother Taylor received her initial education from Carver Elementary School and earned her high school diploma from Shepard High School in Zebulon, North Carolina. She furthered her education at two HBCUs: North Carolina A& T State University and Fayetteville State University, earning a bachelor's degree in education. In 1974, shortly after simultaneously losing both parents, Mother Taylor gave her heart to God while attending Ambassador Cathedral of Deliverance, in Raleigh, NC. After moving to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mother Taylor worshiped God at Greater Galilee, Love Tabernacle, Paramount, Lively Stone, ECHOE Ministries, and most recently, St. Paul COGIC. She was promoted to the position of Church Mother at St. Paul, where she served humbly and with great honor. In June of 1968, Anna Jane Smith united in holy matrimony with Edward Taylor Sr. in Wendell, NC. Their union was blessed with three children. Mother Taylor worked as a cottage life director at the State School for the Blind and Deaf in Raleigh, NC. She also worked as an activity coordinator at Dobbs Reform School in Kinston, NC. Mother T~ enjoyed working with children and was a childcare teacher at Monticello Child Ca~ere in Milwaukee. She was also self-employed with her own in-home childcare business. For several years, she worked as a teacher and parent liaison at Grays Child Development Center, her final job upon retirement. Mother Taylor would tell everyone that her main hobby was fishing. She enjoyed sitting by the water with that baited hook thrown out as far as she could cast it. It didn't matter if she caught anything or not; she just enjoyed staying all day. Her other hobby was creating bulletin boards. She was a member of the support group at Northwest Funeral Chapel. Anna Jane Taylor departed this life on January 22, 2024. She was preceded in death by her: parents, Bright and Lydia Smith; spouse, Edward Taylor Sr., 3 brothers, Ben (Willie Mae), Ernest (Sarah), and Leonard (Hilda); and sister! Margaret. She leaves to cherish her memory: daughters, Deborah Hinton and DeWanna Taylor; son, Edward Taylor Jr.; granddaughter, Alexis Taylor; and 2 spiritual children, Carlos Bardwell (son) and Nathaniel Perez (grandson).
