Mr. Anthony Jerome Smith

Anthony "Tony" Smith was born on November 1, 1955 to the union of Leonard and Irma Jean Smith in Milwaukee, WI. Tony received his formal education from Milwaukee Public Schools and graduated from West Division High School in 1974. Tony grew up attending St. Matthews Methodist Church and always loved and carried a relationship with the Lord. He was a firm believer that you could get through any trial by reading Proverbs and Psalms to find comfort. Tony was married three times to Frances "Dolly" Mastrogiovanni (1974), Tamarea Taylor (1985) and Loretta Dunn (1992). Tony started his employment at the early age of thirteen cleaning parks. He went on to work at M&I Bank from 1972-1978. Tony then joined the Milwaukee Fire Department, serving from 1978-1989. His last place of employment was Skylark in Omaha, NE. Tony also served in the United States Coast Guard Reserves for several years. His work ethic was unwavering and he was a strong role model for working hard and having pride in your job. Tony's deep appreciation and love of sports seeped into every corner of his life. He was a talent- ed athlete and a sports buff who combed the newspaper to read up on all publicized sports. He could recite stats at the drop of a hat and attended baseball's World Series, several Milwaukee Brewers baseball games and Green Bay Packers football games. He loved to travel and take in new places with his family. He had a passion for race cars and owned an extensive Matchbox car collection with several tracks he built himself. Tony was the glue that held the family together with a bright, infectious smile. Whether he was being stern, aggravating or funny, Tony was always providing comfort and love to those around him. Anthony "Tony" Smith departed this life on February 11, 2015. He was preceded in death by both sets of maternal grandparents, his father, brother, two uncles, two aunts, several cousins and his nephew. Tony leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Irma Jean Smith (Wilbon Johnson) and Mr. Ralph; and his siblings Zandra (Hillard) Davis, Eldoria, Quinton, and Stephanie Smith. Carrying his memory are his children and grandchildren: Corrie Smith, Ahveon, YaMaree, Corey, Amadee and Ms. Diamond (D. Mastrogiovanni); Shawnta (Nick) Sayner and Micha (D. Mastrogiovanni); Nicholas (Angel) Morse, Jaylen, Xavier, and Nathen (E. Morse); Toni (Ken) Brady, DeAvion Smith and Rojiah (L. Williams); Phoenix Smith (L. Dunn). Fond memories will remain with his Aunties: B. Bryant, JM Smith, D. Woods and T. Brewer; his cousins, nieces, great nieces and nephews; his forever Brotherhood of Firefighters and countless friends.
