The Legacy of Barbara Jean Shaw Let us reflect on the good times we had with Barbara knowing she will always be near and dear to our hearts. Barbara Jean Shaw, Age 68, passed away January 27,2017, at her residence. Barbara was born October 31, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Herbert and Mary Herd. She was the second oldest of ten children. Barbara was educated in the Milwaukee Public School System and Milwaukee Area Technical College. Time to be born At a very early age Barbara professed her life to Christ. Barbara could accomplish anything she set her mind to. She was always creative; she was always writing, sewing and drawing. She received her Associate's Degree from MA TC and shortly after she was hired at MPS as a paraprofessional. She retired after serving 20 years at MPS. Time to Plant Barbara Loved God. She spoke the Word often with her family and friends. She always guided family and friends to Bible scriptures that had a special meaning to them and their particular situations. She often prayed with and for her family and friends and she taught her family how to do the same thing. She read the Bible faithfully every night and was always ready to listen to the Word and share the Word. Time to Gather Stones For everything there is an appointed time. God wants his creatures to enjoy life! He put time indefinite in our hearts that's why humans do all they can to not die, prolong it by going to doctor when sick. Barbara believed glory was at hand and she did not want to prolong things; she prepared us for this very moment. In her last days, she made sure that we did not cling on to the past that we lived in every enjoyable moment. Time to Mourn Barbara was preceded in death by her mother Mary Herd, her sisters Earnestine C Wynn and Patricia Cunningham. After her home going, her youngest son Herbert Daniel Shaw Sr. followed her. She is survived by her 3 sisters; Dorothy Wooten, Kathleen Herd, Clarissa Scott; 4 brothers and spouses, William Shaw(Juanita), Elijah Shaw, Steve Shaw, Jerry Shaw(Sherry); 3 sons and their spouses, Andre Shaw, Kantrell (Corliss) Shaw, Christopher Shaw, 1 daughter Monique Shaw; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
