Mrs. Betty Ruth Golden

Betty Ruth Golden, also known as "Betty Boop", was born on October 7, 1960 to the union of Irene and Rozell Brown in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Betty received her formal education at Washington High School of Milwaukee. Betty accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at Gospel Luther Church in Milwaukee. When she moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1992, she joined Greater New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, where she volunteered her time and talents for church events in serving the homeless. After relocating back to Milwaukee, Betty became a member at Parklawn Assembly of God. She also served in the hospitality ministry to assist with church functions. On April 26, 2002, Betty Ruth Golden was united in holy matrimony with Raymond T. Golden in Green Bay, WI. In this union of marriage, Betty happily became the stepmother to Raymond's children, Terrell and Da'Juan. Likewise, Raymond happily became the stepfather of Stacey. Betty began her career in the insurance industry at John Hancock in Milwaukee, where she worked as a New Business Analyst for 14 years. She then accepted an offer with Washington Mutual, where she was employed for 3 years. Prior to Betty's early retirement she worked as an Insurance Claims Agent for 8 years with MGIC. Betty was a women that had a heart worth more than gold. She selflessly gave to her family and friends without any hesitation. Betty was also very compassionate and it was revealed through her life's work. She enjoyed volunteering for her church, giving her time to organizations that provide resources and help to seniors and the homeless. Anyone who knows Betty can tell you how much her family meant to her; she absolutely adored them. She was always willing to lend a listening ear to family and friends. You can rest assured that it would be followed up with some words of encouragement and sealed with that beautiful signature smile that shined as bright as any star in the sky! Betty also found an abundance of joy in being around children. No one could top her at being the world's proudest grandmother! She was and will forever be the best grandmother a child could wish for. Some people may not have known Betty had many talents. She was an extremely gifted dancer, singer, and actress. She has participated in school plays, dance recitals and sang in the gospel choir at her church. Betty definitely lived an abundant life filled with purpose and meaning. I know God greeted her with "Job well done!" Betty Ruth Golden departed this life on December 30, 2018. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Irene and Rozell Brown; brother, Henry Brown; sister, Carolyn Brown; six aunts, Janie, Ernestine, Bobby, Hattie, Ruthalee, and Marie; six uncles, Calvin, Lorenze, Wllie, Alonzo, James, and Richard; and great- niece, Tamia Brown. She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Raymond Golden; daughter, Stacey Jones; sons, Terrel and Da'Jaun Golden; grandchildren, Nayshawn, Amya, Raven, DJ, and Dayla-Marie all in Milwaukee, WI; sister, Renee Brown; brothers, Louis Brown and Ezell Brown of North Carolina; and a host of loved ones and dear friends.
