Ms. Beverly Faye Minafee

The Celebration of an beautiful and virtuous woman (Proverbs 31: 10-31) Beverly Faye Minafee was born on September 4th, 1953, to the union of John Lee and Dora Helen Person in Columbus, GA. She was a true gift to this young couple because September 5th was her mother's birthday. At a young age, Beverly fell in love with God, and she enjoyed going to church. She accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized at the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church and remained a member for 60 years. Eager to serve the lord, she joined the youth choir and was on the junior usher board. " Beverly Faye received her education at North Division H.S. graduating a Blue Devil Class of "71". She went on to further her education attending UWM seeking studies of Liberal Arts on August 10th, 1972, Beverly Person united in an eight-year holy matrimony with Bruce Minafee in Milwaukee, WI. Days after celebrating her birthday, their union was blessed with an absolutely gorgeous little girl, naming her Mayrum Makeba Minafee. Beverly Faye was employed at St. Lukes Hospital for eight years as a surgical tech. Prepping surgery rooms with supplies and surgical tools for the surgeons. She also worked for the Milwaukee County Transit system as a Milwaukee County bus driver for 24 years. before making the hard decision to retire due to her health. Beverly was an elite member of the Eastern Stars. She also was a member of the Northcott Neighborhood house senior group. In spite of her health, she would often do volunteer work at Northcott. She enjoyed cooking for events such as preparing meals for the election poll workers and a dish or two for her senior meetings. She loved serving her community by handing out meal bags during Thanksgiving to wrapping and distributing toys during Christmas. Spending many days in the hospital, she was told a few times she had one month to live. Beverly stayed strong in her faith with God saying, "only God will make the final call". Well, eight years later, God decided it was time give Beverly Faye Minafee her wings. She departed this life on November 29th, 2023. She is proceeded in death by her father John Lee Person. Beverly leaves to cherish her memories her mother Dora Person, Daughter Makeba Minafee (Edward Lewis) Granddaughter Brittnie McDaniel, two Brothers Micheal T. Person and John Lee Person (Delores Person) Nieces, Tawana Auston (Romel Auston), Danielle Bates (Tino Bates). Victoria Person, and a host of other nieces and the newest member of the family being Born November 20th, Baby Valentino Cannon along with longtime friend Frank Gaines.
