Mrs. Carol Amanda Jones

Carol Amanda Jones was born July 19, 1937 in Lowndes County, Alabama to Julius Rush and Ai Rush. She graduated from Lowndes County Training School in 1957 and moved to Illinois shortly thereafter. She married her high school sweetheart and her union to Enos Jones, Jr. produced one daughter, Paula. Carol became an employee of Illinois Bell Company shortly after moving to Illinois and then transferred to Milwaukee and to Wisconsin Bell where she held several positions there until her retirement as a Supervisor of the Error Correction Department with 37 years of service . . Carol accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. Upon moving to Milwaukee, Carol became a member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She later united with Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. During the formation of Victory Missionary Baptist Church she was one of the original members. Carol was very active in her church activities where she attended Sunday School, BTU and Mission. She served as Senior Adult Ministry Leader and was responsible and accountable for the status of 46 members. It was her established plan to give a weekly update status report on each one. Carol was so organized in her ministry until you had to go through her to get the seniors to function. It was a great sign of her willingness to motivate and get them involved. No one could make sympathy outreach calls like Carol. Whatever was needed from the membership she was the church's advocate. She served as one of the cooks of the church. Carol so loved her seniors who were aging, she formed an elderly exercising class where they would come and sit in chairs and the exercise was mere raising their legs. It was about fellowship when it came to getting together. Carol organized outings and was very specific that it was only for the seniors. The Late Rev. E. L Thomas appointed Carol as Deaconess due to her care of her elderly father and she served in this position until her transition. Carol enjoyed being outside and in her vegetable garden, picture captivating flowers and immaculate landscaping, her love of nature was evident Carol departed this life on Friday, January 30, 2015. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ai Rush; father, Julius Rush; husband, Enos Jones Jr., and two brothers, Earnest Rush and Russell Rush, Sr. Carol. leaves to cherish her memory: a loving daughter, Paula Jones; a beautiful sister, Marzetta (Gus) Doss; favorite -niece, Lisa Doss; a caring step-son, Loren Rushing; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and her loving canine companion, "Halle Berry". And last but notleast the entire Victory Missionary Baptist Church family.
