Mr. Eugene Harris

Eugene Harris was born in Belzoni, Mississippi April 9, 1944. He was the youngest of thirteen children born to Willie and Luella Harris and his parents absolutely adored him. Eugene moved to Milwaukee with his family as a child in 1945. He was a good student and fast learner who received his formal education from the Milwaukee Public School System. He was employed at Delco Electronics/Delphi as an Oiler for over 30 years until he retired where he also met his wife, Barbara Harris. Eugene and Barbara connected eyes at work by Eugene holding up one figure to signify one, meaning 'Just give me a date one time". After their one date they were head over hills for each other. They spent their days together going on dates and spending time with family. They were married in 1991 and shared 33 wonderful years together. Eugene turned his life over to the Lord at Shilo Tabernacle in 1993 and never lost his faith. Eugene gave a powerful testimony based on what the Lord had done for him and in return his testimony helped others give their life over to God as well. He was also a member of the church choir and the male chorus. Eugene enjoyed spending time with his wife, family and friends, he also enjoyed washing his car, manicuring his lawn, and antiquing. His wisdom and patience not only touched our lives but the lives of all who knew them. Eugene taught us the value of hard work, the importance of integrity, and the power of unconditional love. Though we mourn his loss, we are forever grateful for the time we spent with him. His love, laughter, and sprit will live in our hearts and in the countless lives he touched forever. Eugene will be miss dearly but his legacy of love will guide us always. On July 8,2025, God called his faithful servant home, he was preceded in death by his parents, Luella and Willie Hanis; sisters, Elnora, Ollie and Claudia; brothers, Samuel, Willie, Donald, Albert and James; granddaughter, Aubree Harris and the mother of his children, Ms. Cheryl Lavon Hunt. Eugene leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Barbara Harris; four sons, Eugene Harris jr., LeeMorro Harris (Latoya), Theodeous Harris (Regina), Tomorrow Harris jr.; daughter, Aqana Harris Franklin (Stacey); 3 stepchildren; Anitra Harris (Maurice Jackson), Neshell Lindsey (Shun) and Joel Anderson; sisters, Thelma Collins and Ernestine Bryd; grandchildren; Miya, Shain a, Amber, Tomorrow jr., Rena, Cherishjacoby, Theodeous jr., Dion, Trevont's, Leernorro Jr., Tamari, Makayla, Rhyane, Today, Tristan, Natalie, Sarray, Shawntrale Harris, Dominic, Yukia, Cameron, and Chiana; great grandchildren, Ahmiyah, Damyian, Major, Aaliyah, Ashanti, Kynnidi, D'Lawn, Keri, Kassidi, Tyden, Taylan Taleah, Dior Jahuire, josiah, Ayden, Sir Dominic II, Margell and Aleya along with a host of nieces and nephews, family members and dear friends.
