Mrs. Frankie Mae Phillips

Frankie Mae Phillips was born on November 5, 1927 to the union of Frank Walton and Beatrice Walton (lindsay) in Belzoni, Mississippi. Frankie received her formal education at McNair Public School in Belzoni MS. Frankie accepted Christ as her Savior and later attended Belzoni Chapel Baptist Church. When she moved her family to Milwaukee they fellowshipped at Jordan Missionary Baptist Church. She then moved her membership to Greater Galilee Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a member for over 40 years. Frankie Mae Walton was united in holy matrimony to GroverT. Young on June 2, 1948 in Belzoni, MS. Together they had eleven children. Later, Frankie met and married Charles Phillips and they had one child together while residing in Belzoni, MS. Frankie and Charles moved to Milwaukee, WI. where two more children were born. Frankie was employed at the Jewish Nursing home and st. Mary's Hospital as a Transporter.She later retired from st. John's Nursing Home. In her leisure time, she enjoyed fellowshipping with her children, family and friends. Frankie loved fishing whenever she could, Frankie loved using her cane fishing pole and caught more fish than anyone. She taught her children and grandchildren how to fish. Frankie enjoyed celebrating her birthdays and weekend cookouts with her family & friends. She was known for having block parties to get school supplies for the children on the block. Frankie was well loved ill the neighborhood and everyone referred to her as "Momma". Frankie departed this life October 9, 2014 at Select Specialty Hospital in West Allis, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Beatrice Walton, husbands - Grover Young and Charles Phillips, three brothers - Bill, Earl and Woodrow Walton, five sisters - Ethel Walton, Dixie Hooker, Lucille Tucker, Hattie James and Minnie, Ratcliff, one special nephew - Willie Walton, and five children -James Young, Bennie Young, Venola Yeung-Lang, David Young and Robert Young, two grandsons - James W. Young Jr. and Darnell Young, and two great grandsons Carl Young Jr. and Elijah Young. Frankie leaves to cherish her memories: Five daughters - Mary L. Hill, Sharlene Young, Darlene (Robert) LaGrant, Belinda Jett, and Gloria Phillips-Levendoski. Four Sons: Fred (Patricia) Young, Edward L. Young, Charles and Isaac Phillips, four grandchildren that she raised as her own Travis (Stephanie) Phillips, Isaac Phillips Jr. Marquis Gray and Shavonte Precious Phillips. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and many friends who loved her dearly. The family of Frankie Phillips will like to extend a very special thanks to Select Specialty Hospital for the love and special care they gave to their mother and grandmother during her stay and to her three caregivers, a special daughters in law and other family and friends who gave up their time in caring for her needs. God bless each and everyone of you for your love and kindness. A Special thanks to Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church for the love they shown in preparing of food for the family on Wednesday night, Greater Galilee Baptist Church and to all others who made any type of donations.
