Mr. James Earl Davis

Davis, James E. James E Davis of Brown Deer, WI passed away, at the age of 79, peacefully in the loving arms of his wife, Mary, Monday February 11, 2019. James was born July 20, 1939 in Chicago, IL to Willie L. and Eula B. Davis who preceded him in death. He grew up on the south side of Chicago and attended Oakenwald Elementary School and Hyde Park High School. He has no brothers or sisters. After graduating from high school in August of 1957, he enrolled in the Milwaukee School of Engineering in Milwaukee, WI. While working part-time and attending school, he graduated with an Associate in Applied Science-Electronic Communications Technology in March, 1961. While employed by the AC Spark Plug Division of General Motors as a manufacturing supervisor, James returned to school and graduated with a Bachelor of Industrial Management in December, 1978. He also studied and earned his Master's of Manufacturing Management degree from the GMI Engineering and Management Institute. James was a quality engineer working in the process validation and compliance department of AC Spark Plug. He later became promoted to a higher administrative management position where he retired. James became a Master Mason on December 2, 1973 and while Junior Warden of his lodge he was appointed by The Grandmaster of his jurisdiction to the office of Worshipful Grand Assistant Secretary where he performed those duties from 1979 to 1988. He was also a member of all of the Masonic houses in which he took pride in being the first Grand Secretary of the Most Excellent Grand Chapter of Holy Royal Arch Masons, Prince Hall Affiliated, State of Wisconsin and its Jurisdiction. James received his as= Degree, the highest degree earned by a Mason, in 1989. June of 1988 his goal was to one day become The Most Worshipful Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge Free and Accepted Masons State of Wisconsin Jurisdiction which he accomplished in 2004 and served until 2008. James also served as the President of the Mid-West Regional Conference from 2007 until 2008. He was an active member of Delta Chi Lamda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated. James "Cap" (as he was known by many) Davis was survived by his wife Mary A., son Micheal Pride, step-daughter Pastor Carol Donald (Elder Willie), Step-Grandson Eiyessie M. Donald (Jenifer), Step- Granddaughter Elyssa M. Donald, and 2 step-great grands. He had many cousins, friends and Masonic family to share his love and many memories. The services are as followed: Wake - Wednesday, February 20, 2019, 3 - 6 p.m. and 6 - 7 p.m. (family hour) at Northwest Funeral Home, 6630 West Hampton Avenue, Milwaukee, WI. Funeral - Thursday, February 21, 2019, 10 - 11a.m. (viewing) and 11:00 a.m. service at Jerusalem M.B.C., 2505 West Cornell Milwaukee, WI.
