Mr. John Henry Eubanks

John Henry Eubanks was born on September 25, 1939 in Eads, Tennessee to the blessed union of the late Leroy and Louise (Smith) Eubanks. He was the sixth eldest of twelve children. John accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age while attending Belle Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Oakland, Tennessee. He received his formal education at Fayette County High School of Somerville, Tennessee. After graduating from high school, John moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1961 where he met the lovely, Lona Faye Wyatt of Bells, Tennessee. They were married for over 50 years and blessed with four children, Regina, Devonna, Michael, and Candace. John was a very loving husband and devoted father. There was nothing more important to John than his family. Being a husband and father brought him so much joy. He instilled in them the values of love, self-reliance, and living earnestly. John found great pleasure from attending the annual Eubanks family reunion, only missing 2 of 41 due to illness. The closeness and love he displayed for his siblings is a legacy that he passed on to his children. John was employed as a master welder for 20 years at Renner Manufacturing and later retired from Middle West Manufacturing after 10 years of service. In his spare time, he loved to play baseball and was the coach for his son’s Little League Boy Scout team. John was a fan of all sports especially football and was an outstanding sports analyst for his family and friends. After retirement, John became a member of Washington Park Senior Center, where he made many friends. John aged with dignity and acceptance, always charming and humorous until the very end. He departed this earthly life at home surrounded by his loving family on November 17, 2013. His parents, Leroy and Louis (Smith) Eubanks and siblings: Vivian Eubanks, James Eubanks, Stella Niter, William Eubanks, and Vera Eubanks preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife, Lona “Fay”; Children: Annette Regina (Aaron) Antoine, Devonna Eubanks, Michael (Kimberly) Eubanks and Candace (James) Hill; grandchildren Kimora Eubanks and Tatiana Hill; his wonderful siblings Mildred (Samuel) Harris, Aubrey (Bernice) Eubanks, Martha (Herbert) Grimes, Mahalia (Joe) King, Mary Spears, and John E. (Mildred) Eubanks; his sisters-in-law Zoreda Eubanks, Margaret Eubanks, Gladys Yancey, Freddie (William) Brooks, Annie Cole, Shirley (Dewitt) Cole, Bettye Harris and Mary Wyatt and brothers-in-law Walter Niter, Alvin Wyatt, Lonzie Wyatt, and Lawrence Wyatt, as well as a host of nephews, nieces, and other loving relatives and friends.
