She was the fifth of six children born to the union of LaVall Jordan and Elllis Jurant Jordan, Jr. She moved to Albion, Michigan at a young age. She attended Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, which is where she accepted Christ. Karen was most affectionately known as "Kay Kay". She graduated from Albion High School in 1980. There, she excelled in her academics as well as athletics. She was a member of the basketball team, softball team, and cheer leading squad. While residing in Albion, she had the opportunity to work various jobs including Lear, Kellogg's of Battle Creek, and Big Boy restaurant. She later relocated back to Milwaukee where she was employed for thirteen years at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center. Kay Kay was determined to one day earn a college degree which she proudly did by earning a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration in 2017 from the University of Phoenix in Milwaukee. She aspired to one day use her nurturing spirit to operate a Homeless Shelter. Kay Kay was witty, smart, and fun. Whenever she wanted to do something, you could count on it to be done well. She never met a stranger and was full of personality. She had a gift with people and would connect with anyone. She was always the life of the party. If she was in the room, she was the light and there was no way you could take your eyes off her. Her energy was magnetic. Kay Kay loved to dance to everyone's delight. If you were around her enough you became familiar with her signature dance moves. She always called to check in, she always knew what you were going through and on birthdays she warmed the hearts of her loved ones with her special, personalized birthday song remix. She enjoyed going on trips with her family and friends, especially cruises. She also enjoyed sports, specifically whatever basketball team her son was associated with. She loved her family above all and cherished her granddaughters and son. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Karen transitioned to be with the Lord on October 14, 2020. She is survived by her son, La Vall (Destine e) Jordan; three cherished granddaughters, Ava Simone, Alanna Kathryn, and Adalynn [etha, husband, Wesley Marshall; step-children, Aisa Marshall and Marquell Marshall; four sisters, Elaine Jordan, Theresa (Larry) Jemison, LaDiane Jordan, Fern Suzette Jordan; brother, George Jordan; twenty- two nieces and nephews; her "special sister", Darlene French; and a host of other family and friends. Karen was preceded in death by beloved Ellis Jurant (father), Lavall Jordan (mother), and Khailei McBride (niece).
