Ms. Leslie Neal

Leslie Lee Neal, born on February 9, 1949, in Clarksdale, MS, alongside her twin brother, Luster deceased, was the cherished daughter of Leonard and Lemmie Neal. At the age of 10, Leslie accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized in a local lake in College Grove, Mississippi. In 1962 the family migrated to Milwaukee, WI, marking the beginning of a new life journey. Leslie's early years were characterized by independence and resilience, setting a powerful example for her siblings. In 1967 she moved to Chicago where she found a rewarding career at Mitsubishi Corp/Sears Roebuck. In 1976, Leslie became a mother to her daughter, Camille Neal. In 1984, Leslie and Camille returned to Milwaukee, WI, where most of her family still lived. She took a position at Daughters of Luke Limited (DOLL), a non-profit home health agency, where she found great mentors and friends and became a mentor and friend to many in the community, leaving a lasting impact with her work. Leslie retired from the City of Milwaukee Police Department where she worked on the civilian side in the homicide and warrants divisions, a career spanning 21 years, until her retirement in 2009. Affectionately known as "Sister" to her family, a title that reflected her loving and caring spirit, Leslie's deep love for her family was evident in everything she did. Many in the family considered her the pillar, as she was extremely passionate about studying her Bible and reading supplements to gain greater insight into scripture. She always wanted the best for her family and led many family and friends to Christ. Leslie was known for explaining scripture and leading powerful Bible study sessions, creating wonderful study and worship times. Leslie also had a strong passion for cooking and baking, skills she learned from her dear mother. This was a source of joy for her family, who could always count on a great holiday or Sunday meal. Leslie took time and effort to ensure every detail was in place, creating warm and memorable moments for all. Her legacy will live on through her daughter, Camille; her granddaughter, Kendall; and her twin grandsons, Kingston and Kaleb Taylor (Frisco, Texas). Also included are her siblings: brothers Johnnie, Leonard and Keith; sisters Caroline Washington and Zettie Berry (all of Milwaukee, W·"'''r'''''·'''n of whom saw her as a bonus mother. She is predeceased by her brothers James Neal and Luster Neal. Leslie Lee Neal passed away on July 19, 2024, surrounded by her daughter and grandchildren, Leslie will be greatly missed, bust as family , we stand firm in our faith, understanding that she has been elevated to a greater level in life. With the strength of the Lord, we will heal, but more importantly, Leslie is healed.
