Mrs. Lucille Wesley

Lucille Wesley was born on June 9, 1945, in Carroll County, Mississippi, to union of Clinton and Etoy Patterson Gary. She was the eighth child of eleven children. Lucille was raised up in church from a child. She grew up in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Vaiden, Mississippi where her father served as a Deacon. She was very active in church, she sung in the choir and participated in Sunday School. Lucille received her education in the Carroll County Public School and graduated in 1963 from Marshall High School in North Carrollton Mississippi. In 1963. Lucille decided to move to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where her two older sisters lived, She believed that there were better employment opportunities for her there. During her initial beginning in Milwaukee, Lucille worked downtown as an elevator operator, and as a seamstress. Sometime later, she worked for the Milwaukee Public School System as a cafeteria worker at Thurston Woods Elementary School for 22 years where she retired in 2016. While living in Milwaukee Lucille also affiliated herself with the Apostolic Faith. She joined Greater Faith Temple Apostolic Church. She demonstrated her faithfulness to God and the church by serving faithfully for many years in various capacities. She served as the Administrative Secretary for 4 5 years. She also taught the youth Sunday School class for over 20 years. On September 23, 1983 Lucille married the love of her life, Walter Wesley. To this union they were blessed with three adorable sons, Mikal, Karim, and Adrian. She departed this life on Wednesday morning October 4, 2023 after a brief stay at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, three older brothers and three older sisters. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband for over 40 years Walter Wesley, her three sons; Mikal (Rachel), Karim, and Adrian all of Milwaukee; two grandchildren: Jenesis and Nasir; two step daughters; Victoria and Cynthia; two stepsons: Derrick and Jordan; three sisters: Minnie O. Johnson of Milwaukee. Wisconsin , Betty R. Gary of Chicago, Illinois, Annie Maura of Beaver, Pennsylvania along with one brother George Gary (Teena) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Lucille was loved and will be greatly missed by a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, in-laws, her church family and friends. They all will cherish her memory in their hearts forever.
