Ms. Mary Lena Gray

With heavy hearts, yet unwavering faith in God’s promises, we celebrate the beautiful life and heavenly homegoing of Ms. Mary Lena Gray, who departed this earthly life on May 12, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on August 17, 1944, in Brownsville, Tennessee, Mary Lena Gray (née Willis) was a woman of faith, enduring strength, and a joyful spirit. She treasured family above all else and had a special gift for making others feel welcomed, loved, and at home. Mary was first married to Bobby Gray, who preceded her in death. Together they welcomed three children: Bobby, Lisa, and Tondra. Later in life, Mary shared a loving relationship with Fernandro Boykin, who also preceded her in death. Together they had Kim, Karen, and Tammy. Mary found happiness in life’s simple but meaningful moments — dancing, sharing stories, laughing with loved ones, and gathering family around a table filled with home-cooked meals. Cooking was one of the ways she showed love, and many cherished memories were made through the meals, conversations, and togetherness she created. She also loved gardening and took great pride in her flowers and beautiful yard, spending time planting, tending, and creating a beautiful space that reflected the warmth and care she showed to the people she loved. A devoted woman of faith, Mary’s belief in God guided her throughout her life. Her strength, warmth, humor, and caring heart left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know her. Though her earthly journey has ended, we find comfort in knowing she is resting peacefully in the presence of our wonderful Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She leaves behind her six beloved children — Bobby, Lisa, Tondra, Kim, Karen, and Tammy — along with many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends who will continue to carry her memory forward. While we deeply mourn her absence, we also celebrate a life filled with love, faith, resilience, and family. Her stories will be remembered, her spirit felt in family gatherings, and her legacy carried on through the generations she loved so dearly. “Absent from the body, present with the Lord.” – 2 Corinthians 5:8
