Mrs. Mozell Goodrum

Mozell Goodrum was born on February 28,1932 to the union of Robert and~thie Wilson in Batesville, Mississippi. She received her education in a one room schoolhouse in Batesville. Mozell accepted Christ at an early age and was united with Springhill ASA Baptist Church in Batesville, where she was a faithful member. Mozell Wilson was united in holy matrimony with George Goodrum on September 17,1949 in Batesville, MS. The couple moved to Milwaukee, WI in 1952 for better job opportunities. Their union was blessed with six children. After arriving in Milwaukee, the Goodrums joined Calvary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. Melvin Battle. She was employed by Green Tree Nursing Home where she was a Certified ursing Assistant (CNA) for 20 years. She also was a Tupperware representative and was recruited by her friend Zelda Morgan. She received many awards and traveled throughout the state and beyond, spreading the news about Tupperware. Mozell was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her children were her pride and joy. Mozell and husband George's home was a refuge. Friends and family members were always welcomed to their home, especially her children's friends. She was a role model for her children and the community - she was the epitome of a dedicated mother. Mozell leaoes a rich and fulfilling legacy. In her leisure, Mozell loved reading romantic novels, completing word puzzles, shopping and cooking for her family, especially during the holidays. Mozell expressed compassion and love to others by purchasing personal gifts, especially to those people who had no family during the holidays. Mozell Goodrum departed this life on June 1,2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Goodrum; parents, Ruthie and Robert Wilson; and brother, MJ Wilson. She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Mildred (Ed) Lewis, Billy (Dianne) Goodrum, Charles (Gloria) Goodrum, Jeffery (Brenda) Goodrum, and Monica (David) Lawson, all of Milwaukee, WI and Minnett (Cecil) Jackson of Racine, WI; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Marcell Goodrum; sister-in-law, May Leon Goodrum of Oakland, CA; aunt, Isola Harris of Milwaukee, WI; very special cousins, Dicie May James of Milwaukee, WI and Janie Lois Turner of Batesville, WI; special nephew, Ken (Tanya) Wilson of St. Louis, MO; special friend and co-worker, Alice Ashford of Milwaukee, WI; special relative, Helen Wilson of Milwaukee, WI; special friend, Gloria Neff of Milwaukee, WI; special niece, Sherry Carr of Atlanta, GA; close friend, Joslyn Ruffin of Milwaukee, WI; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.
