Mr. Odyssus Henry

Odyssus (Ted) Henry was born on October 27, 1948, to the union of Solomon Henry Sr. and Arlester Henry in Bogalusa, Louisiana and was raised in Sandy Hook, Mississippi. Odyssus received his education from Wesley Ray High School in Angie, Louisiana and graduated on May 26, 1966. Oyyssus later went on to receive his Mechanical Education from OIC Training Center and MATC in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Odyssus accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age. He received his Early Christian Education under the leadership Pastor Alton Owens, Sunlight MBC in Sandy Hook; Ms. He was also a member of Beacon Hill Evangelist Church, under of the Leadership of Pastor Johnny White. In 2003, Odyssus joined Greater St. Luke MBC, where he worked faithfully as a Trustee, and a member Male Chorus. Odyssus also enjoyed attending Sunday School and was a part of the Men's Faith Fellowship Ministry. On May 5, 1996, Odyssus married Gwendolyn R. Henry. To this marriage, (8) beautiful children were united and they became the Henry bunch. Odyssus Henry served in the US Army for 21 years. During his career in the military; Odyssus served in Korea, Germany and Desert Storm. Odyssus was employed with Pressed Steel Tank Company for over 10 years and was employed as an Auto Mechanic at Transit Express Company until his death. In his leisure, he enjoyed working on cars and motor cycles, relaxing with his wife and family. One of his favorite hobbies was frying fish and cooking on the grill. He loved his children and grandchildren. Odyssus (Ted) Henry departed this life on Friday, April 1, 2016. He was preceded in death by his father; Solomon Henry Sr., a brother Toyle Henry, and a sister, Rena B. Henry. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving Wife, Gwendolyn Henry, a wonderful mother, Arlester Henry (8) Beautiful Children; Theodore Lamont Jenkins, Odyssus Patterson, Ulysses (Tamika) Henry, and Odyssey (Fairetta) Peters, Lawanda Sherice Cook, Joseph Lavell Cook, Daniel Lamont Cook, Elizabeth Nicole Cook, (16) Grand Children (1) Great Grand Child. Odyssus also leaves to cherish his memory (10) Brothers, William (Annie) Henry, Austin Henry, Solomon Henry Jr. Elbert (Mary) Henry, John Henry, Raymond Henry, Wilton (Jennifer) Henry, Weldon Bernard (Kathy) Henry, Julius (Cassandra) Henry, Arnez Henry, (3) Sister, Jerri (Clarence) Thomas, Hester Henry, Melissa Henry and 2 sister in laws, Melva Henry and Della (Ricky) Merritt. Brother in laws, Woodrow (Marjorie) Jordan, Randy P. Jordan. A Special godmother, Vertis Brown and godfather, Min. James Brown. His wonderful Pastor and 1 et Lady - Mother Emily Ann Jones and Pastor Clarence Jones and the Greater St. Luke Church Family. And a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other dear friends and relatives.
