Mr. Omar Ameen Mustafa

Omar Mustafa Otha Tolbert Jr. was born December 18th, 1949 to the union of Otha Tolbert Sr. and Clara Bell Tolbert in Gary, Indiana. He received his formal education attending Roosevelt High School in Gary, Indiana graduating in the class of 1969. Directly from high school Omar was drafted into the United States Army and departed to Vietnam in 1970. He was Honorably discharged in 1972. After returning from the Army Omar attended Lovelle Barber College and worked in the Indiana Steel Mill in Gary, Indiana. Omar married Wilma Atkinson and with their union his first son Nadir O. Mustafa was born in 1972. In 1977 Omar married Adl Hadi and with their union his second son Zakariyah Mustafa Salahadyn was born in 1979. In 1979 Omar married Delores Hall and with this union Ornar inherited a new family of nieces, nephews and cousins. Omar moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1975 and continued his Barber education at M.A.T.C. the Milwaukee Area Technical College. In 1983 Omar opened his own establishment called Hair Artistry on 34th and Lisbon, where his career continued to grow. He became well known in the_Milwaukee Community for his professionalism, mentoring and providing life skills through his apprenticeship program, which he offered at his barbershop. In 1992 Omar guided his son and partner to establish Fade Masters Barber Shop located on Fond DuLac Avenue, where his son continues to perform his services to the community this very day. Omar was a good man with a big heart who was much more than a barber, he was and always will be a pillar to the Community of Milwaukee, in 1997 Omar retired from Barbering. Omar departed this life on May 23,d, 2017, and entered into the pearly gates of Heaven. He was preceded in death by his parents; Otha Tolbert Sr. and Clara Bell Tolbert-Moses, sisters; Annie Pearl Tolbert of Gary Indiana and Annelle Tolbert of Milwaukee WI., Wilma Atkinson mother of Omar Jr. and AD I Hadi the mother of Zakariyah. Omar leaves to cherish his loving memory Mable (Johnny) Greenhill of Milwaukee, WI., Leroy Tolbert of Merrillville, I N., Nellie Mae Jones of Milwaukee, WI., Mattie Daniels of Gary, IN., Fronie Jane White of Merrillville, I N., Cora Bell Joyner of Milwaukee, WI., William Ralph Tolbert of Merrillville, IN., Mary Bernice Lewis of Chicago, I L., Cousin Valeria (Alvin) Price of Milwaukee, WI., his grandchildren; Dazia, Zhahir, Zakariyah Jr. and Kierstyn, along with a host of nieces, nephews, employees and close friends.
