Mr. Percy Donell Ward

On a cold winter day in 1964, February 18th to be exact, a baby boy named Percy Donell Ward was born, to the late Christine H Ward. He was the youngest of 9 children. The majority of Percy's childhood years were spent in Mercer Tennessee, with his late maternal grandmother Mildred Hennings. There he attended Denmark Elementary School, West Intermediate School and was a member of Greater Mercer Baptist Church. He accepted Christ at a young age and served on the Usher's board along side his cousins Eric and Nick Maclin, and Malcolm Merriweather. Later Percy moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin with His mother and siblings. He attended Bayview High School. It was here that His passion for auto mechanics grew, as He was a part of the Auto Mechanic Shop class. Percy earned His Varsity Letters in basketball and football from Bayview High and graduated in 1982. When it came to repairing things, Percy did this exceptionally well. He worked as a security guard for Miller Brewery and several small business in Milwaukee. He was a Certified Mechanic through Firestone. Percy owned and operated His own auto repair shop "Motor Heads ", as well as worked for various dealerships and auto repair shops in Milwaukee. If He was not somewhere working on a car, you could find Him remodeling homes. In His leisure He enjoyed playing dominoes, chess, listening to old school music and napping. We bade farewell to Percy, our beloved father, baby brother, favorite uncle, cousin, mechanic and friend, on the morning of Saturday, July 10th, 2021. Percy Donell Ward was proceeded in death by His mother Christine H Ward, Grandparents Henderson and Mildred Hennings, Brother Michael Ward, Sister Pamela Kleckley, Great-Uncle William Fuller, Uncle Charlie Hennings, Aunts Beulah Mae and Teresa Hennings, and nephew Timothy Ward. He leaves to cherish His memories: Children, Quantell Collier- (Mother Nancy Ferguson) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Danielle (Garrett) Salley of Killeen, Texas, Danietta and Daniecce Ward of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Donell (Hayle) Ward of North Las Vegas, Nevada (Mother Debra Mitchell-Ward); Siblings, Garnett "PeeWee" (Cheryl) Ward, Thelma, Paul, James Jr. (Swayzine) Thompson, Ausbey Hardison, Elvy Davis, Allen Johnson; Niece (Sister), Sherrell Thompson-Mattox; Grandchildren, Quantell Jr. "Pooh Bear", DeQuon "Larrion ", Sky, Nariah, Cea'Maurion, Daniyah, Hayden and Egypt; Special Cousin (Aunt), Betty Merriweather; Long-time friend, Larry Hayes and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
