Mr. Robert Lee White

Robert Lee White was born on June 9, 1958 to the union of James White and Frankie Mae White (nee Higgins) in Indianola, Mississippi. Robert was the fourth son and the eleventh child in this large loving family. Robert confessed his belief in and love for Jesus Christ and was baptized at an early age at Mount Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Indianola where he participated in youth activities and Bible studies. He completed grade school at Carver Elementary School and was a 1976 honors graduate of Gentry High School, in Indianola. After High School, Robert attended Mississippi Valley State University. Deciding to forego college, he worked in various businesses, as a general laborer and in the automotive industry. He was a self taught fix-it guy and enjoyed working with his hands, figuring out and repairing things. In the mid-2000s Robert relocated to Chicago, and later came to Milwaukee to help care for his brother-in-law James. Robert had a smile that would light up a room. In his leisure time Robert enjoyed football and other sports, restoring cars and especially grilling and cooking for his extended family. In times of difficulty throughout his life, no matter how dark the days seemed, he always came back to express his solid, deep conviction and reassurance that if we believe in Jesus Christ, then we should not fret or fear, because, in Robert's own words, "God Has Got This." Robert departed this life on August 2, 2020, at his home in Milwaukee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernita Warren White, his parents, James and Frankie Mae White, his three brothers, Anderson, Willie Lee and James, Jr. and his sister Mary Dean. He leaves to cherish his memory, his six sisters, Veola White of Chicago, Naomi Stamps, Edna Moore, Vivian Gleason and Maxine Aldridge White (Leonard Eugene Martin) all of Milwaukee and Glory White Toney of Atlanta; his four beautiful daughters, Shelia Renae Adams of Spring Lake, North Carolina, Tambra Daniels of Janesville, Wisconsin, Shericka White Walker (Donnie) of Moorhead, Mississippi and Sharon Smiley (Julius) of Los Angeles, California; eighteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
