Mrs. Ruby Christine Wilder

Ruby Christine Zolicoffer was born to the union of Felix and Arie Zolicoffer on August 29, 1927 in Kosciusko Mississippi. She was the eighth child of ten children born to the union of Mr. Felix and Arie Zolicoffer. She studied endlessly and received her formal education at Attala County Training Scholl in Kosciusko Mississippi. Ruby accepted Christ as her personal savior and was baptized in the Baptist faith at the age of twelve at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Kosciusko. She was a dedicated and God-fearing woman throughout her life. Ruby was united in holy matrimony to Curtis Pervis Wilder in 1947 in Kosciusko Mississippi. They moved to Milwaukee Wisconsin in 1947 where their union was blessed with seven children, six boys and one girl. Ruby worked very hard as a personal home custodian and later as a full time employee at UWM to help support her family. There was simply nothing she would not do for her children. She was a very compassionate and caring person who took time out to help and/or advise many people with life problems. She not only raised her seven children, but she also raised two of her grandchildren while caring for numerous foster children. She was affectionately known to many as mama and grandma even to the neighbor children. While growing up on a farm where various vegetables were grown and livestock were tended to she also picked cotton; this was the basis of her desire to always have a garden and also instilled her unchallenged work ethics. She was a very hard working woman while being extremely dedicated to her family. As a family we enjoyed the canned fruits and vegetables that were grown from her garden as well as her home cooked meals which were truly made with love. After six years of coping with Dementia, Ruby Wilder peacefully was called home by Christ on Wednesday, November 13, 2013. She was preceded in death by Curtis Pervis Wilder; sons Michael and Perry; daughter-in-law, Sharon; brothers Albert, Fred and Hosie; sisters Annie Mae McCurtley, Lula White and Josephine Agant. She leaves to cherish her memory; four sons, Willie Norman (Shari), Harold and Duane Wilder and one daughter Jennifer (Derwin) Words: three sisters; Clara Mallet, Pearl Kimbrough, and Sadie Williams; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, and one great great-grand daughter, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
