Mrs. Ruth Ann Cross

Ruth Ann Cross, was born November 6th, 1941, to the union of Doyle and Willie Mae Walker in Camden, Arkansas. She was the oldest of 9 Children. At the age of five she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her family. Ruth graduated from Lincoln High School in 1959. Ruth enjoyed sewing as a young adult. She worked for Imperial Knitting as a seamstress in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She also attended MATC where she earned an associated degree in General Studies. Ruth also loved to have conversations with her children about what next things they would be doing in their lives. Her favorite pastime was to spend time with the love of her life, Amos. They were best friends and hung out together every day. Because she loved her family so much, she made sure that they stay in continuing education. Just having a diploma or degree was never enough. She expected you to be your best self at all times. Ruth enjoyed dressing up. There was never a time when you would find her well put together. It didn't matter if it was a picnic or formal occasion. Many of her children and grandchildren have the same traits. In her leisure, she enjoyed listening to music, socializing with close friends and family, and reading, which she could often be found doing. Ruth had a small, close circle of friends whom she held dear. She also loved conversations with her children about what they had planned next in their lives. She always encouraged them to never remain idle. Ruth enjoyed cookouts in her backyard. She also enjoyed picnics at Milwaukee County Parks surrounded by family. Ruth also enjoyed getting dressed up, going out with the love of her life, Amos. After his passing, her children, church, and volunteering became her focus. Left to Cherish Ruth's precious and unconditional love; her loving daughters, Geri Lynn Cross, Jackie Boyd (Olage), Son's Kevin (Shalanda) Cross, Brian (Melinda) Cross, Scott (Tiffany) Cross. Grandchildren; Jordan (Denise) Dickerson, Byron (Breajanae) Cross, Jada Thompson, Kevin Cross Jr; Lauryn Cross, Taylor Cross, Arlena Cross, and Brianna Cross. Great-Grand Children; Jace Cross, Monae Cross. Ruth Ann Cross departed this life on November 9, 2025. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Amos. Joann, Cynthia, Linda, sisters. Charles, Terry, and Rodney, brothers. She is survived by sister Elizabeth Walker, brother Gerard Trent Jr. Grand-dog Lyla, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that were all like family.
