Mrs. Sibyle Mae Kelley

Sibyle Mae Kelley was born October 29, 1924 to Garada Murphy and Tolbert Monk in Kerlin, AK. She received her early education in Arkansas and Texas. Sibyle moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1951. She attended Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) of Nursing becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. Sibyle retired from Milwaukee County Medical Complex in 1983 after twenty-nine years of service. She was a devoted member of the Wisconsin Association of Licensed Practical Nurses, the National Federation of Licensed Practical Nurses, and the MATC Advisory Committee. Sibyle was also a successful AVON representative for over thirty years. Sibyle professed a hope in Christ at an early age at the Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Arkansas. She united with the Greater Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1951 and remained a faithful member until her death, willingly serving as a member of the church Sunday school, the Greater Galilee Church Choir, as well as the Hospitality and Transportation Committees. Sibyle was united in holy matrimony to JC Kelley in 1945, to this union four children were born; Stonewall, Yvonne Elaine, Wayne Bernard and Douglas Dwight all residing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by son Melvin Cummings, husband JC Kelley, and daughter Yvonne Elaine Pearson. She leaves to cherish her memory three sisters, Joyce (Robert) Luke of Chesterfield, MO, Margie Payne of Dallas, TX, and Bobbie Jean Copper of Magnolia, AK; three sons, Stonewall Kelley, Wayne Bernard (Joyce McCoy) Kelley, and Douglas Dwight Kelley of Milwaukee, WI; eight grandchildren, Michael Cummings and Barton K. Chatman of Grand Rapids, MI, Tracy C. Kelley of Columbia, MD, Ayanna G. Allen, Sean Barfield, Brandi Barfield, D. Dwight Kelley II and Derrick D. Kelley all of Milwaukee, WI; eight great -grandchildren, Julian Nichols and Bryce K. Chatman of Grand Rapids, MI, Breanna, Jeremiah and Brezhe Barfield, Ashyanna Pearson-Young, Avyanna Young of Milwaukee, WI; and a great-great granddaughter, Mariah Ialiyah Magee of Milwaukee, WI. She also leaves daughters-in-her heart Doris Watkins, Dorothy Barfield, Ilesia P. Moman, Jacqueline Y. Kelley, and as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
