Ms. Wilma Claudette Hunt

wilma Claudette Hunt was born'on August 2,9,1946 in Jackson, Tennessee to the union of Robert-Lewis Hunt and Ola Mae Jones Hunt. Wiima began her formal education at Carver School n Brownsville, Tennessee. She continued her educatiion in Milwaukee when her family relocated there in 1954. She attended Hopkins Elementary School and earned a diploma from North Division High School. Wilma continued her formal education at MATC and graduated with honors earning a Bachelor's degree in hotel management. Wilma professed her faith in Christ at a very early age and was baptized at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Milwauke, Wisconsin. She later became a member of Garden Homes Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Wilma was a long-time employee of the American Can Company. When the company closed its doors to relocate to another state, Wilma embarked on a career in hotel management at the Wyndham Hotel. She ended her career in the corporate world at Travelers Insurance Company as a claims adjuster. In 1997, Wilma fulfilled a life-long dream of establishing her own business, opening Ola's House, an assisted living community for seniors. As the proprietor of Ole's House, Wilma loved taking care of her residents by growing vegetables in her massive garden and then preparing homemade and nutritious meals; and oh how she loved to garden! Every spring Wilma looked forward to perusing seed catalogs and planning her flower garden for the season. Wilma loved to travel to Chicago with her daughter, Angie where they enjoyed fine dining, shopping and seeing Broadway plays. She was a movie bluff. Among her favorites were The American President and Smokey Joe's Cafe. Wilma was a gourmet cook, trying recipes from the many cookbooks she collected. She made a "mean" pound cake and continued pursuing her many passions and hobbies until herhealth began to decline. Her parents, Robert and Ola and her beloved sister, Bobbie Mae Herron preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory; daughter, Angela Hunt of Miiwaukee, Wisconsin; sister, Deborah Shipp of St. Paul, Minnesota; nephew, Christopher Herron of Indianapolis, Indiana; niece, Shelby Lewis of St. Paul, Minnesota; goddaughter, Jessica Williams of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; dear friends, Lee Ester Thompson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Ternase Jones of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and a host of family, friends, and neighbors.
