Mr. Woodrow Wilson Cain

Woodrow Wilson Cain I was born August 5, 1918 to the union of John and Harriet Cain in Wabbeska, Arkansas. Woodrow received his education at Merrill High School in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1946, In 1957, Woodrow meet and married Vera Mae Mixon. He was employed for many years with the Cotton Belt Railroad Company. Later moving to Milwaukee, Wisconsin starting at Allis Chambers and retiring from the Chrysler Corporation. Woodrow was also the proud owner of Cain's Janitorial Service mentoring all of his grandsons by age twelve about strong work ethics. He was an avid fisherman and loved to discuss politics and was a strong supporter of the Republican party. Woodrow (Dee) accepted Christ at an early age and in 1957 became a member of the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. C.V Harrington followed by Rev. Leroy R Mixon and transitioning under the leadership of Rev. Martin Childs. Woodrow was an ordained Deacon and was very strong in his faith. He was an active member of various organizations within the church but most of all he was Deacon Cain. He loved to sing and help people but if you wanted the truth and wanted, special answers do not ask Deacon Cain. On January 8, 2013, God called home a special, Deacon, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Great Great Grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife of over fifty years Vera Mae Cain. Along with the mother of his children Madella V Cain twin daughters Maxine and Gladstine, sisters Ruthie Mae Burris, Mistis Jenkins, brothers John Cain, Robert Cain and James Cain, one son in-law Joseph G. Jackson and one grandson Torrance R Jackson. He leaves to cherish his sweet memories two daughters Vera Jean Wimberly Milwaukee, WI Bobbie Jo Jackson Grand Blanc, MI two grandsons Woodrow W. Cain II, Joseph G. Jackson II and three granddaughters Corlette V Wimberly, Verette L Donnan and Tammie Cain. One brother in-law Arthur Downs. Thirteen great grand children, seven great great grand children. Three special nieces Willie R Smith, Vema D. Blake, and Marlene Lee. One special nephew Willie R Blake Jr. and a host of other relatives and friends including special friends Joe Barber, Willie Champion, J C. Frazier' and Hafeezah Hhmad. The family would like to say a special thank you to Rev. Martin Childs, Dr. Kevin Izard, Linda Griffin, Effie Gallien, Betty Harris, the Deacon Board and the entire Pilgrim Rest Family. The family would also would like to thank Meadowere Assisted Living Facility and the Horizon Hospice unit of Columbia St. Mary's Ozaukee.
