Mrs. Zeolia McDaniel

Zeolia McDaniel was born October 16, 1940, in Stephens, Arkansas; the second of five children to the union ofthe late Semmie and Virginia (Davis) Emerson. Zeolia relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in April, 1954 and received her formal education at McKinley Street School, Wells Street School and Milwaukee Area Technical College. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Whiter Chapter Baptist Church in Camden, Arkansas, under the leadership of Reverend Hayes. After moving to Milwaukee, Wisconsin; she joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in 1954, under the leadership of Reverend R.L. Lathan and was a faithful member of the usher board along-side her mother for many years. She met and married Anover McDaniel on July 4, 1962 and their union was blessed with over fifty years of marriage. In her early years of employment, she did daily housekeeping in various homes and was later employed at Koss Electronics, where she worked for 30 years until her retirement in 2001. Zeolia had many talents, including arts and crafts, bowling, cooking delicious meals and she was an excellent seamstress. She made travel pillows, rag dolls and clothing for her family and friends. She could take a pattern and create some of the sharpest garments one has ever seen. She even made her daughter's wedding dress for her special day. Zeolia loved to travel with her sisters May and Shirley and her brother-in-law Cliff. She visited places such as London England, Paris France, The Bahamas, Jamaica and Las Vegas was a must every year. In addition, she loved casino bus trips, s oppmg at the Goodwill and taking leisure walks with her friend and neighbor Brenda. In her early morning hours of Wednesday, February 24, 2016, Zeolia transitioned to her heavenly home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Semmie and Virginia Emerson and her eldest brother Benny J. Emerson. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband Anover McDaniel; son Gregory (Kimley Renee) Emerson, Sr.; daughter Ann Renee McDaniel; grand- daughter Imani (Percy) Perry; grandson Gregory Emerson, Jr.; great grandchil- dren Starda' Kelly-Howard, D'Jena Kelly-Perry, Avionna Davis, Gregory Em- erson, Ill and Bria Emerson; two sisters May (Clifford) Dunson and Shirley Emerson; one brother James Emerson; one aunt Fannie Emerson; special friend Brenda Giles, all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
